The Sapphire SL is manufactured out of the very innovative and new Premium Material which is the next generation beyond poly cristalline alumina. It is clear and doesn’t stain anymore like the common polyurethane and poly-carbonate materials and doesn’t abrade like ceramic.

The material of the Sapphire brackets is hard enough not to deform during treatment like standard composite brackets tend to do. It is very abrasion resistant but its shore hardness prevents the teeth from being damaged like it might happen by strong for-bites with ceramic brackets. Furthermore the strength ensures no fractures of the bracket during the removal process. Premium material is a despersion of different kinds of medical grade and highly biocompatible copolymers with a small portion of ceramic to increase strength and hardness. It is approved by biocompatible tests like mutagen, skin sensitization, cytotoxicity and oral toxicity and has beek certified accor-ding the MDD. Analysis also showed no leakage of PBA.

Friction Forces

Due to the new material composition the brackets show outstanding ultra- low frictional forces for premium sliding mechanics compared to all other used bracket materials of the market. This allows full control of the treatment forces.

Mechanical Locking Base

The bracket also features a mechanical locking fi shgrate base. This means that the glue is pushed away from the gingiva and therefore very easy to remove. There is no need of any additional coating or silane. The special base provides excellent shear forces and easy debonding.

Prescriptions

The Sapphire brackets are designed for wires form .012 round up to .017 x .025 for the .018 slot and up to .021 x .025 rectangular for the .022 slot. All wire materials are possible. The Sapphire SL will be available in MBT and Roth, no Hooks or Hooks on 3,4,5.
